SKI LOCKER – The ski locker for Chalet Lily is situated next to the canopy and is the one facing the driveway. The lock uses the Wink Haus key. The owners have their own possessions on the storage racks there but there is space for 8 skis and snowboards along with space to store bikes if needed. A small radiator can be used to keep the area warm in winter if needed.
FRONT DOOR – either use the key and turn completely to left to open. Or use the fob by pressing it against the outside intercom. To lock turn the key completely to the right. There is a video intercom on the first floor of the chalet and callers can be admitted by pressing the lock key on the fascia which is the far left symbol. On the other side of the doorway to the video intercom is the thermostat which is preset to 20°C. Should you need to increase the temperature press the panel once and use the keys on the right to increase to the desired level. There is a ‘Kill-switch’ for all the chalet’s lights just to the left of the front door on the inside. Make sure you remember to push it when entering or leaving!
WASHING MACHINE – To set the washing program press the ‘Marche/Arrêt’ button first to turn the machine on and then turn the knob to the design program. Once this has been reached press the ‘Départ/Pause’ button to start the machine. Add detergent tabs to the drum itself or powder/liquid into the drawer (left hand side).
TUMBLE DRYER – To set the dryer going, press the ‘Marche/Arrêt’ button first to turn the machine on and then turn the knob to the design program. Once this has been reached press the ‘Départ/Pause’ button to start the machine. Don’t forget to clear the fluff filter out regularly, which is in the white cage at the foot of the drum, and to empty the condensed water, which collects in the drawer container on the left and can be disposed of in the sauna room.
FUSE BOARD – The fuse board for the electrics, along with the router for the Wi-Fi is in the same room as the washing machine and dryer on the ground floor. The internet is usually very reliable, but if for whatever reason there are problems you can try resetting the router (black box) which is in the utility room. Disconnect the white Eero box
plugged into the router and then turn it and the router off. Turn the router back on again and only reconnect the Eero box when all the lights on the front of the router are steady.Wi-Fi is carried throughout the chalet by a series of Eero extenders (small white boxes), which will have a constant white light on the front if they are working correctly. There is also an Airer and electric drying rack along with cleaning products, hoover, mop and a bucket.
TV / XBOX / FIRECUBE / DVD PLAYER – Turn on the TV and the Amplifier using the remotes and press the TV remote input button (small plug icon)to access satellite TV or show or other sources which include an Xbox, a DVD player (there are a selection of DVDs in the media cabinet) and the Amazon Firecube (you’ll need to sign in and out of this if you have an Amazon account). You can access Netflix, Apple TV, Disney+ from the Firecube or the TV itself, depending on your preference. You can also change sources using the input buttons on the amplifier as well.
There is also a Foosball table and a dart board. Stand on or behind the back line for the darts and the dartboard can be turned on or off to automatically record scores.
SAUNA – To operate the sauna, press the ‘on’ button (top right) on the small black keypad to the left of the door and give it about 30 minutes to warm up. Press again to turn off and there is also an internal light switch on the top left of the pad as well.
When using the shower in the sauna room please make sure the water drains regularly from the floor by way of an automatic pump that you should hear operating at regular intervals once the shower is tuned on. If it doesn’t work, then it may be due to an airlock in the plughole of the spa bath, which can be remedied by simply running a little bit of water down it. If for whatever reason the water is not draining from that shower then please stop before you get a flood on your hands!
MUSIC – There is a Naim Muso Qb speaker on the bookcase in the lounge. Turn it on by touching the power icon on the touchscreen on top of the dial, which doubles as a volume control. You can access it either via Bluetooth or by using Airplay on whatever music streaming app you have. Alternatively, there are 5 pre-loaded internet radio stations on the unit which can be accessed using the touchscreen on the top dial and by pressing the radio icon repeatedly to choose the station you like.
BOARD GAMES – There is a selection of English and French board games to enjoy in the lounge area
WOOD BURNING STOVE – There is kindling and firewood in a small wicker basket to the left of the woodburning stove in the living room. If you need some more this is usually available from the Sherpa supermarket across the road. To open the woodburning stove, pull the small horizontal handle on the bottom right edge of the front towards you and this will release the door. The air vent is a small tab which is situated at the bottom of the front door and should be pulled out fully to get the fire started. To get the best out of the stove it is highly recommended to pre heat the chimney first. To do this just light one firefighter in the stove, close the door and then wait round 10 minutes. You can then add kindling and other firefighters after this time. We do not recommend adding more than 2 logs to the stove at any one time – Please do not load
logs above the line of air holes in the middle of the rear part of the stove as this will
cause it to overheat. Please remember when opening the door during an existing fire to keep the vent pulled fully out otherwise smoke will come out of the door.
WORKSPACE AREA – There is a desk and printer at the entrance to the master bedroom. Look for the EPSON printer on your network printer settings to use. There is a small supply of paper in the drawer.
POWER CUTS – Though it is rare, we do occasionally experience weather-related power cuts due to our mountain location. Be advised in the event of a power cut after approximately one hour you may also lose your mobile phone and internet signal (as the masts will also be down and have a battery back up that lasts around one hour). If you need to contact us by phone do so immediately before you, or us, become uncontactable.
RUBBISH & RECYCLING – Your nearest rubbish & recycling bins are located at the back of the car park in Ave du Fer à Cheval, opposite the bakery. Google Maps link here. The yellow bins are for any plastic / paper / metal recycling. The green bin is for glass. All waste that can’t be recycled goes in the grey bin.
